About This Site

ballThis web site is based upon a roleplay game I play called English Footie, which in my opinion is by far the best football roleplay game I've played. It is the most realistic as players are rated as to how good they are in real-life and also on what position(s) they play. It is a very challenging game and not at all easy but that is what makes it so good. There are also plenty of opportunities to communicate with other managers - vital for transfers. The site has existed since 6th March 1999 and is updated regularly. There is a quiz for you to test your football knowledge.

ball To get a fuller understanding of how to play the game either by post or on the internet, see the In Off The Post website. In short, you pick the players, choose a formation, position them, tell how attacking or defensive the team will be, direct the style of the attack ie. how much through the middle or down the wings they will play, and also how much gamesmanship there is by the players. Recent innovations are the Livescore and Videprinter facilities so that a turn or game can be watched like watching the scores on the Ceefax videprinter on a Saturday afternoon. For this game, see each club's home page for the scheduled kick-off day and time (usually 6pm) and then watch the goals go in at the In Off The Post website.

ball As for me, I've played in various leagues since I joined Set-up 9 at it's inception in November 1995. To see my record, see the My Record page.

ball I joined the completely new Set-up 35 in September 1998. As with all the set-ups, all managers inherit the real-life squads as at the beginning of the season in which the league originally commences. After that, each team's squad evolves as their managers see fit. It results in some eyebrow-raising teamsheets when compared to reality.
