- New UK record at Chippenham Tournament
David Lilley
YYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! A Double Fita score of 2169 thrashed the old record of 2058. The first day I scored 1137 in what were good conditions most of the time. The wind did pick up during the 70m section. I should have got the 90m distance record but I equalled it with 259, after scoring a miss and a 2 on the last end. That will stay with me until I get a new 90m record. I also should have done the same at 30m, but a bad start cost me as I scored 332. The first nine arrows did the damage at that distance. I fell down markedly at 70m and 50m, being about 25-30 points down on normal at each distance. I scored more at 50m (275) than at 70m (271). On the second day, conditions were very windy and badly affected everyone's scores. It was a real battle against the elements with some light rain in the afternoon. I scored 1032. I felt that technically I did better than on day one. In better conditions I would have done better than my Saturday score. Overall, 2169 isn't bad but in better conditions I'll put alot more on that score. I also think that 1200 is achievable. Anyway, record number one is in the bag with the intention of more to follow.
