    SILVER - Indoor Archery

    David Lilley

For the Fita 18m round this morning I scored 515 but this was not enough as Kiwi Chris Hurricks scored 521 to push me into silver. It was neck and neck most of the way until the last few ends when I lost ground. Still, two golds and a silver is not bad for a week's work.

SInce the gale force winds for the Fita round the winds have relented. I was talking to another British archer gold medalist and we agreed that the weather has been taking the mickey for us really as we had the worst of it. The UK archers overall have done the best of the visiting contingents with Nichola Simpson being a triple gold medalist, Lucy Holderness like myself winning two golds and one silver, and Cherry Lyne winning gold, silver and bronze as well. The archery for the Games is now over and my attention will now turn setting new goals - something to think about on the plane home on Monday.
