- 15th UK record but must do better
David Lilley
I shot at the Rivernook Bowmen 70m tournament this weekend and in very good conditions didn't get as high the scores I was expecting. I scored only 574 and then a new UK record of 591 on Saturday for the Fita 70m round. On Sunday I scored 579 but only managed 92 in the 12 arrow pass, missing that record by one point and I'm not happy about that.
As at Exmouth, I seem to shoot far less well on the second day after camping, something I will look at, and once again I haven't transferred my club form to a tournament through what can only be described as tournament tension - something else that will be worked on.
I will just have to score everything I do from now on so that scoring becomes a treadmill and then it won't affect me. I did this in 2003 and the tournament results were the best I got that summer anywhere.
The next tournament is another four weeks away so I have plenty of time to sort myself out.
