- 14th British record - but that's it
David Lilley
I went to the Double Fita Star at Exmouth at the weekend and in good conditions I chalked up another Double Fita record but that was the only thing of note.
It was disappointing to advance only 9 points of the old record to 2254 after shooting 1133 and 1121 over the two days. I can shoot much better than that ! However, it seems I have three modes of shooting. There's Tournament Mode where I shoot around the low 30's handicap like at the weekend. There's club shooting where I do high 20's and there's practice scoring where it's low to mid-20's. One day I will get it right and a UK record won't just get broken - it will get smashed to bits.
The only reasonable bits of shooting were the 70m on day one and 50m on day two. The rest was just rubbish. I will now have to work out a way of avoiding this situation in future - starting with the 70m tournament in a fortnight at East Molesey.
