    Indoor title retained

    David Lilley

I kept hold of the UK Indoor title on Saturday despite not shooting anywhere near as good as last year. I shot a bad 493 for the Fita 18m round - not was I was expecting. The main culprit was the leftward drift although at one point for a short time, I was so determined to avoid that, I was flinching up into one o'clock blue. I flinched a miss on the penultimate arrow as well. I got eight golds mostly in the last eighteen arrows as I suddenly found form. What competition there was quit when I was fourteen points ahead. Hope to see them around outdoors.

For now the priority is to sort out the leftward drift once and for all. Watching some of our top archers made me think I come back too far with the drawing arm. My next outdoor tournament won't be before the May Day weekend.
