I have been shooting Compound Limited style since August 9th 2001, having previously been a recurve archer for five years. I changed styles following a coaching session in June 2001 where I came to the conclusion that recurve wasn't really the best style for me and that I wasn't going to improve much from my handicap of 43. I have been asked often why I don't shoot Compound Unlimited style. There are two reasons for this. First, I find shooting Limited style is much more comfortable as I don't use a release aid. When I have shot with one, it has felt very unnatural and due to the extra draw length, my drawing arm does not like it. Second, I think that with practice I have a serious shot at being the Compound Limited UK champion.
